윈도우7 서비스팩3 다운로드 및 설치 쉽게 하는 방법
얼마전에 포맷을 했습니다. 윈도우7을 설치했는데 사실 요즘엔 MS 인터넷 익스플로러를 잘 안쓰다보니 별 신경을 쓰지 않고 있었는데 은행사이트같은데를 가보니 익스프롤러7에서 문제가 되는 곳들이 많이 보이더군요. 해서 이번에 익스플로러 11로 업그레이드를 하려고 했더니 익스플로러10 윈도우7 서비스팩1 업그레이드를 해야 설치를 진행할 수 있다고 뜨면서 설치가 진행이 되지 않는 문제가 발생했습니다. 해서 제 컴퓨터의 정보를 확인해보니 윈도우7 서비스팩1 설치가 되어있지가 않았더라구요. 그래서 설치도 할겸 이번 시간에는 윈도우7 서비스팩2 다운로드 및 설치를 쉽게 하는 방법에 대해 알아보록 하려고 합니다.
위의 상황은 익스플로러10 윈도우7 서비스팩1 설치를 요구하는 화면입니다. 설치를 진행하려고 하면 이렇게 지원되지 않는 운영체제입니다. Internet Explorer 11을 설치하려면 Windows7 SP1 또는 Server 2008 R2 SP1이 필요합니다. 라는 팝업이 뜨게 됩니다.

이 방법은 네이버 자료실을 이용하는 방법인데요. 네이버에 로그인을 하시고 소프트웨어로 가신 다음 Windows7 SP1 (윈도우7 서비스팩1)을 검색하셔서 위의 다운로드 페이지로 이동을 해주시구요. 본인이 쓰고있는 운영체제의 환경에 맞는(32bit, 64bit) 설치파일을 다운로드 받습니다. (로그인을 하지 않아도 다운로드는 가능하지만 시간이 엄~청 오래 걸립니다.)
그럼 이렇게 네이버 소프트웨어 다운로드 화면이 뜨게 되는데 여기서 저장위치를 설정해주신 뒤 다운로드 버튼을 눌러주시구요.
다운로드가 완료된 후 설치파일을 실해하시면 위와 같이 윈도우7 서비스팩1 설치 화면이 뜨게 됩니다. 설치 이후에는 컴퓨터를 다시 시작해야 하니 작업중인 파일이 있다면 미리 다 저장을 한 뒤 종료를 해주시구요. 작업할 준비가 되었으면 설치를 눌러서 과정을 진행해주시기 바랍니다.

윈도우XP는 서비스팩 3까지 지원해 줬지만, 윈도우7은 아쉽게도 서비스팩 1이 처음이자 마지막 서비스팩이다.
MS가 윈도우7 서비스팩 2를 앞으로 출시하지 않을 것이라고 대못을 박았다.
하지만 SP1 출시 이후 업데이트 패치들이 부담스러울 정도로 늘고 있다.
윈도우7 최초 설치 후 소요되는 업데이트 시간은 사용자들에게 인내심의 한계를 느끼게 한다.
그래서 MS가 조치를 취했다.
서비스팩 2는 없지만 2016년 4월까지 누적된 업데이트 패치들을 모아 간편하게 설치할 수 있게 했다.
일명 윈도우7 간편 롤업. 사실상 서비스팩 2나 마찬가지다.
*. 2018년 9월 현재 본문에 언급된 윈도우7 간편 롤업은 몇가지 문제점이 발견되었고[바로가기], 추후 업데이트시 설치 실패되는 패치가 여럿 있기 때문에 권하고 싶지 않다.

우선 윈도우7 서비스팩 1이 설치되어 있어야 한다.
서비스팩 1은 [바로가기]에서 받을 수 있다. 물론 서비스팩 1이 설치되어 있다면 상관없다.
(서비스팩1 설치여부는 바탕화면의 컴퓨터 아이콘 우클릭-‘속성’-‘Windows 버전’에서 확인할 수 있다)
설치되어 있는 윈도우7이 32비트용인지 64비트용인지도 확인하자.

1. 서비스스택 업데이트(KB3020369) 설치하기
간편 롤업을 다운받기 전 우선 ‘서비스스택 업데이트’라는 걸 설치해 주어야 한다.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3020369 에서 다운받을 수 있다.
다운받은 업데이트 패치를 실행하자.
만약 위 창이 뜨지 않고 업데이트 확인중 상태로 정지되어 있다면,
윈도우키+R을 눌러 실행창을 띄우고 services.msc 입력, 서비스 창에서 Windows Update 항목을 우클릭하여 중지시키자.
서비스스택 업데이트는 순식간에 설치된다.
2. Windows Catalog 사이트에서 KB3125574 업데이트 다운받기
https://catalog.update.microsoft.com 에 접속하자.
액티브X를 설치해야 하기 때문에 반드시 익스플로러로 접속해야 한다.
(액티브X가 설치되지 않을 경우 익스플로러를 관리자 권한으로 실행해 주자)
액티브X 설치 후 우측 상단 검색칸에 KB3125574를 입력하자.
윈도우7용(32비트, 64비트)과 윈도우 서버 2008 R2용 업데이트 패치가 목록에 뜬다.
설치하고자 하는 PC에 맞는 항목을 ‘추가’해 주자.
추가된 항목은 우측 상단의 ‘바스켓 보기’ 항목에서 확인할 수 있다.
‘다운로드’를 클릭해 주자.
다운로드 경로를 지정해 주자.
다운로드가 진행된다.
3. 윈도우7 SP1 간편 롤업(KB3125574) 설치
다운로드 완료 후 KB3125574 파일을 실행하면 위 창이 뜨는 데 시간이 다소 소요될 수 있다.
PC에 설치된 업데이트를 확인하기 때문.
아무래도 수년치 업데이트 패치가 설치되다 보니 시간이 오래 소요된다.
하지만 직접 업데이트하는 것보다는 빠른 편이다. 대략 50분정도 걸렸다.
기타
KB3125574 패치는 2016년 4월에 제작되었기 때문에, Windows Update에서 잔여 업데이트를 설치해 주어야 한다.
하지만 잔여 업데이트를 확인하는 데 많은 시간이 소요된다;
잔여 업데이트 소요시간을 줄이는 방법은 몇 가지가 있는데, 논란(?)이 있어서 추후 포스팅해 보겠다.

Press Start Button and Search for Windows Update. Click on the Change Settings in the left menu. Drop down the option of Important Update and change it to the ‘Install updates automatically (recommended)’.
